Although the days start to run together when you’re not working, Fridays are still exciting; the start of a whole weekend of fun plans AND two whole days with an extra set of hands to help with diapers, bottles and rocking. 😉
(Photo from the hospital… and probably the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen.)
We’ve got a fun weekend planned and a friend spending a few nights with us, so after Annie’s one month appointment this morning we’re in weekend mode!
Before we get to the weekend, I wanted to share a few things that I’ve been loving lately. And since my life lately revolves around all things baby, so does this list. I would have rolled my eyes at all of this baby talk a year ago, but hopefully there are some readers out there who might be interested! 😉
I took some family/baby photos for my sister this weekend (our little girls are 10 days apart!) and she was able to snap a few for us afterwards. They turned out so cute! (See a few more in this post!)
Check out how precious my sister’s little family is:

Nursing Friendly Tops
I had no idea how much breastfeeding would take over my life, but sure enough it has. As with pregnancy clothes, I’m trying not to purchase a whole new wardrobe and am trying to make a lot of what I already have work. That said, I found these loose-fitting lightweight sweaters on Amazon and have now ordered two that I pretty much wear on rotation every single day. I mean you can’t beat $13.99 for a top.
I pair them with a nursing tank and leggings and it’s super easy to just pull them up when hunger strikes, while still feeling like I’m somewhat put together. Although they’re technically sweaters, they’re so lightweight that I’m sure I’ll be wearing them all summer.
Reusable Nursing Pads
Speaking of nursing, when I tore through a box of disposable nursing pads in like a week, I knew I needed to find some other options. I ordered these washable bamboo pads from Kindred Bravely off Amazon and after using them for a day, ordered another set. While they don’t last as long as the disposable ones, I feel better not making quite as much trash. I’ve been using the reusable pads during the day and one disposable set at night. I really had no idea that breastfeeding was so…. damp. Sorry, TMI.
Need I say more? Dry shampoo is like my new best friend. I’ve been through a few different brands but I’m currently loving the Not Your Mother’s version. The smell isn’t totally offensive and it actually seems to boost my hair a little without making it look limp. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that thanks to this stuff I’ve been able to go up to 3 days without a hair wash (yes, I’m still showering)
Currently Reading: Bringing Up Bebe
You’d think that after a day of ‘parenting’, the last thing I’d want to relax with is a parenting book, but sure enough that’s exactly what I’m doing. Bringing Up Bebe covers the authors perspective on the ‘French’ style of parenting, and along with being somewhat informative it’s also pretty entertaining. I’m currently trying to implement some of the tips about sleeping (luckily, Annie’s a good sleeper and I don’t have to do much), and I like how relaxed this approach is compared to some of the crazy techniques I’ve heard about. I’m sure it’s not for everyone though.
Currently Watching: Cook Like a Pro
One last favorite not related to baby! My kitchen guru is back with a new season and I’ve had the DVR set for weeks. Catch Ina on Sundays at 11.
What are you loving this week?
