I’ve been meaning to start up a weekly pregnancy recap for awhile now and just haven’t gotten around to it. Mainly because it seems like not much is happening from week to week so it doesn’t seem worth writing about. But in all reality, I know that’s not the case and there really are changes happening… slowly, maybe, but they’re happening!
So from here on out, I’m going to try to do a semi-regular pregnancy update. I’ve enjoyed looking back to other bloggers’ pregnancy recaps and I know that someday down the road, it will probably be fun to come back to these posts! 🙂
I’m a sucker for the weekly fruit/veggie update that I get on my pregnancy app. 😉 This week, Chickpea is the size of an avocado!
It’s bizarre to me that something the size of an avocado is growing in my stomach, and so far I have very little signs of anything being different. (Minus the ultrasounds; obviously evidence enough that he or she is in there!) This week is the first that I’m feeling like my stomach is starting to ‘pop’. Some days it definitely looks bigger than others, but I can no longer suck it in like I used to. Depending on what I’m wearing (or what I had for dinner!) it’s getting a little more obvious to me; not sure how it appears to anyone else at this point!
Sorry for the crappy office bathroom pic, but today seems to be the biggest day so far. Obviously it seems a bit more prominent when I’m wearing fitted clothing as opposed to flowy or oversized tops and dresses! Might be time to start taking regular, weekly pictures rather than the occasional picture whenever I feel like something has changed!
I haven’t had anything that I’d classify as a ‘symptom’ since the little bit of nausea I had wore off sometime around week 10, but the past few weeks I’ve felt some light pain or stretching in the sides of my stomach. Probably has something to do with the bump making an appearance!
No real cravings, although I’m still having a thing with cocoa puffs. Once I start, I can’t stop. 😉 The meat aversion is sticking around, although some of the meats that I’m not supposed to have, like raw sushi, do sound appealing. I could really go for some deer bologna, but we don’t have any, and I also don’t know where that falls on the safe/unsafe list.
Water, stretchy pants, water, oversized sweaters, water, slippers, clementines. Did I mention water? Super thirsty this week. I’m alternating between a swell bottle in my purse and my big yeti cup that goes from home to work to home again. Love having ice all day long!
I’m trying to figure out how many days per week I can get away with repeating black leggings and a long top. 😉
The only baby purchase I’ve made so far is a pack of basic white onesies. Not knowing the gender is going to make this tough! Work has started on the nursery; last week we had crown molding installed and a fresh coat of paint on the ceiling, so now it’s a blank slate! (Except for Jim’s hunting clothes which are still occupying the closet.) Next step- finding a big rug! Who knew that rugs were so expensive?! I’m looking for something neutral that will go with the light beige walls, but won’t show dirt or whatever else it might end up seeing.
We have an appointment next week, but it’s just a regular check up. The next ultrasound should happen in December, so we’re anxiously looking forward to that! I think that will be the gender reveal ultrasound, so I’m hoping that the secret isn’t blown!
The weeks officially change on Sundays, so we’re only 3 days away from week 17!
